Dr. Kaplan is Board
Certified by the American Board of Allergy, Asthma and
Immunology, in addition to the American Board of Internal
Medicine. He is licensed to practice medicine in Tennessee
and Georgia. As the first local certified allergist, Dr.
Kaplan established the Chattanooga Allergy Clinic in 1975.
He received his undergraduate degree from Emory University
and doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Georgia.
Three years of residency in internal medicine was completed
at the Medical College of Georgia Hospitals. Dr. Kaplan
then completed a two-year fellowship-training program in
pediatric and adult allergy and immunology at Walter Reed
Army Medical Center. As a volunteer he served in the U.S.
Army from 1971 to 1975. He is on staff at Erlanger/UT College
of Medicine as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine
and is Chief of the Allergy Section. Dr. Kaplan is a member
of both the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology
and the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Kaplan and his wife, Susan, enjoy spending time with
their two children and five grandchildren.
